Area residents can get their first look at the new Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas (CHC/ SEK) clinic Sunday afternoon.
A ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday at 2051 N. State St. Health center officials will give brief remarks, followed by live music, refreshments and tours of the newly built health center until 4 p.m.
When we broke ground a little over a year ago, it seemed like this day would never come, Krista Postai, CEO, said. We are very excited to finally celebrate the opening of our brand new facility.
The 14,000 square foot facility features 13 exam rooms, eight dental operatory stations as well as a large waiting room, childrens play area and in-house pharmacy with drive-up window service.
CHC/SEK is relocating from 1408 East St. in Iola where it first began providing dental services in 2008 before eventually expanding its services to include primary medical and mental health care. Postai said the move represents much more than just a change of address.
This goes beyond simply being a new building in a new location, she noted. With medical, dental, mental health and pharmacy services under one roof, this is truly a one-stop healthcare facility for the entire community.
